Settling in to Happy Days Childminding
Ensuring Children settle into the setting well is very important at Happy Days.
Settling In
The first few weeks when a child starts at the setting is a crucial time which can have large effect on their happiness in the setting later on. Happy Days recognise that all children are individuals and while some adjust well to the to the new setting and new routine others take longer to feel comfortable and secure. It is also recognised that the experience of settling into a new routine can be extremely overwhelming for some children especially if they have not yet spent much time separated from their primary caregivers. As mentioned in parent partnerships Happy Days work closely with parents and carers to form a partnership so that we can take necessary steps to ensure the transition into my setting goes as smoothly as possible. It is also common for a young child’s first experience of settling in to a new setting to effect how a child views future transitions, I therefore see it as vitaly important to ensure they settle well and develop necessary skills use when settling into future settings such as school.
